Job Description: Civil Project Manager

Location: West Bloomfield, MI

Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to join their team and provide professional services for municipal and private clients. The ideal candidate is energetic, personable, and interested in career growth within civil engineering. This role involves managing various infrastructure design projects, including buildings, airports, tunnels, bridges, and water supply and sewage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management and technical expertise for civil engineering projects, including water/wastewater, sewer, bridge, and structural projects.
  • Plan, schedule, budget, coordinate, and execute assigned civil engineering work from inception to completion.
  • Prepare project proposals and oversee the 30-60-90 design process.
  • Coordinate all technical activities on assigned projects.
  • Perform project management duties, including client coordination and communication, monitoring compliance with codes and standards, and ensuring effective communication among project participants.
  • Provide technical expertise to achieve project goals.
  • Identify, obtain, and retain clients and projects within target markets.
  • Assist with the recruitment and mentoring of new employees.
  • Support company growth-related activities.
  • Engage in client interactions regarding proposals and project designs.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Supervise project and staff engineers in preparing construction plans and specifications.
  • Attend project/progress meetings as required.
  • Monitor work compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • 8+ years of civil engineering experience in both private and public sectors.
  • BS and/or MS in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil design work.
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to changing real-world conditions.
  • Demonstrated motivation to adjust schedule as required to meet deadlines and client needs.
  • Experience in geotechnical, structural, and hydraulic engineering projects is a plus.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Insurable driving record.
