Key Responsibilities
• Perform geotechnical investigations and analyses for municipal, transportation (Caltrans), and DSA-related public projects.
• Prepare technical reports, including geotechnical evaluations, recommendations, and design solutions.
• Oversee fieldwork activities such as subsurface explorations, soil sampling, and site inspections.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil and structural engineers, to deliver comprehensive project solutions.
• Provide technical support during the design and construction phases of projects.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., Caltrans and DSA guidelines).
• Mentor junior staff and provide quality reviews of their work.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 3-7 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• EIT certification is required; PE preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of California geology and regulatory requirements, including Caltrans and DSA standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical report writing and client interactions.
• Field experience in soil testing, boring logs, and site characterization.
