Office Manager / Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Certified Engineering Geologist
Location: Northern Los Angeles Area, California
Position Overview:
A full-time Office Manager/Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Senior Certified Engineering Geologist (or candidate with similar experience) is needed to manage and grow an office located in Northern Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing expertise in providing analyses, guidance, and solutions to contractors, municipalities, transportation agencies, utility providers, and healthcare clients in geological and environmental engineering, construction materials testing/inspection, and stormwater management services.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee office operations, including managing Department and Project Managers, revenue, costs, and profitability.
Handle staff recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and staff management.
Manage accounts receivable (AR) and work-in-progress (WIP), ensuring adherence to safety requirements and company culture.
Develop and implement a clear strategic vision and market analysis for the office operation.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to office managers and staff.
Ensure the office provides a full complement of services as required by the company.
Continually assess the group’s strengths and weaknesses, developing plans to promote strengths and address weaknesses.
Collaborate with other offices to develop synergies with common clients and resources.
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to secure a steady project backlog and grow the client base.
Prepare timely responses to proposals deemed worthy of pursuit by management.
Oversee the hiring and onboarding process for staff and supervise performance reviews.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field .
Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) in California preferred.
Demonstrated history of growing a business with high levels of client satisfaction.
Proven success in managing client requirements for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
Experience leading and managing multiple service lines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
