Our client, a leading Geotechnical and Materials Testing firm and in ENR’s Top 500 list is seeking a dynamic Branch Manager to lead and expand their Austin office. In this leadership role, you will oversee day-to-day operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality services. You will work closely with clients across diverse sectors—including contractors, municipalities, transportation agencies, utility providers, and healthcare organizations in the areas of geotechnical and construction materials testing and inspection and environmental services. Your ability to mentor a multidisciplinary team, manage budgets, and maintain a strong safety culture will be critical to the success and growth of the Austin branch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Branch Operations & Management:
    • Oversee daily operations, including financial management, budgeting, and cost control to ensure branch profitability.
    • Manage the hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews of branch staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
    • Supervise department and project managers to maintain high operational standards and client satisfaction.
  • Strategic Leadership & Business Development:
    • Conduct market analysis and develop a clear strategic vision to grow the branch’s service offerings.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while nurturing relationships with existing clients.
    • Collaborate with other offices to leverage synergies, share best practices, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Client Engagement & Quality Assurance:
    • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that projects meet or exceed expectations for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
    • Maintain a proactive approach to resolving issues and improving operational processes.
    • Uphold high standards in safety and quality across all branch activities.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10+ years of experience.
  • Education & Preferred Background:
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent management experience will also be considered.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to manage multiple service lines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interfacing at all levels within and outside the organization.
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven, with proven success in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to build and sustain client relationships.
