Branch Manager – Geotechnical & CMT
Location: Atlanta, GA

Our client is looking for someone to lead and grow their Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing (CMT) operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving branch performance, expanding market presence, maintaining high-quality technical standards, and developing a strong, engaged team.

This position offers a direct path to Partnership for a leader who thrives in a growing consulting environment and is eager to build and scale a successful branch within a multidisciplinary engineering firm.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations: Provide overall leadership and direction for geotechnical and CMT services within the branch.  Manage day-to-day branch operations, including staffing, scheduling, safety, and resource allocation.

Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and review for geotechnical engineering reports, field investigations, laboratory testing, and construction observations.  Support staff development through mentoring, training, and technical leadership.

Business Development & Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, and public agencies.  Represent the firm at industry events, professional organizations, and client meetings.

Financial & Performance Management: Maintain responsibility for branch financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, and budget adherence.  Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decision-making.

Staff Development & Management: Recruit, hire, develop, and retain engineering, technical, and administrative staff.  Promote a safe, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and/or construction materials testing.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering and CMT services.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
