Position Summary

A well-established technical services organization is seeking a Branch Manager to provide leadership for a profitable, high-performing office delivering geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) services in the Richmond market. This role is responsible for branch operating performance, strategic growth, client engagement, and team leadership.

The Branch Manager will oversee day-to-day execution while driving continued expansion through disciplined operations, strong client relationships, and the development of internal talent. This opportunity includes a competitive compensation structure and participation in an equity-based ownership program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for branch operations, including safety, quality, staffing, workflow, and client service
  • Execute branch growth strategy through key account development, proposal leadership, and expansion of service delivery capabilities
  • Serve as a senior client-facing representative, maintaining relationships with priority clients, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Lead, mentor, and develop branch personnel; support recruiting, performance management, and succession planning
  • Ensure consistent project execution and operational discipline across field and office-based teams
  • Manage financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, and budget execution
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and accountability

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within geotechnical engineering, CMT, engineering consulting, construction services, or related technical services environments
  • Proven success in client relationship management and business development support
  • Strong operational and financial acumen with the ability to improve performance through structured execution
  • Excellent communication and leadership presence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing branch or office-level operations, or leading a department/team with operational responsibility
  • Professional licensure (PE) is preferred, but not required depending on overall leadership background
