Environmental Practice Lead
Level: Principal or Senior Consultant
Location: Greater Philadelphia Area
Full Time | Hybrid
A highly respected, employee owned, national multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Practice Lead to expand and lead its environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance practice in the Greater Philadelphia market.
This is a senior leadership role for a well established environmental professional with strong regional relationships, business development capability, and technical credibility. The position offers the opportunity to build and grow a regional environmental practice supported by national technical resources and corporate marketing support.
This role provides an ownership path within the firm and long-term advancement potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts and expand client relationships in the Greater Philadelphia region
- Represent the firm in proposal development, contract negotiation, and project execution
- Manage and mentor project teams including office and field staff
- Oversee technical, financial, contractual, and risk management aspects of environmental projects
- Prepare, review, and approve technical reports and proposals with full QA and QC compliance
- Monitor project performance relative to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards
- Participate in strategic planning and regional growth initiatives
- Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance
- Conduct or review technical analyses and project deliverables
- Interface with regulatory agencies and third parties on behalf of clients
- Promote a strong safety culture and quality driven work environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, or related discipline
- Advanced degree preferred
- Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist, and or Licensed Site Remediation Professional preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of environmental consulting experience
- Established professional reputation and client network in the Greater Philadelphia or Southeastern Pennsylvania market
- Strong experience in environmental investigation, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects
- Experience with chlorinated solvents, emerging contaminants, and litigation support preferred
- Experience with industrial compliance and permitting preferred
- Proven seller doer capability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, organization, and project management skills
- Experience preparing high quality technical reports within budget
- Strong regulatory agency negotiation and advocacy experience
- OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred
