The Geotechnical Branch Manager oversees and manages the operations of a branch office with a specific focus on infrastructure projects. This role involves leading a team of geotechnical engineers and technicians, coordinating and executing geotechnical projects for infrastructure development, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards, fostering client relationships, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Management: Provide strong leadership to a team of geotechnical professionals, fostering collaboration, professional development, and expertise in infrastructure projects.
- Project Management: Plan, execute, and deliver geotechnical projects for infrastructure development within budget and timeline, coordinating activities, conducting site investigations, analyzing data, and preparing technical reports.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities in the infrastructure sector, expand the client base, and represent the company at events to promote geotechnical services for infrastructure projects.
- Technical Expertise: Provide guidance and expertise in geotechnical engineering specifically related to infrastructure projects, including foundation design, soil mechanics, slope stability, and geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and standards specific to infrastructure projects. Mitigate project risks, monitor performance, and implement necessary control measures.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Prepare and manage budgets for infrastructure projects, analyze financial performance, contribute to business planning, and make data-driven decisions to optimize resource allocation.
Infrastructure Criteria:
- Strong knowledge and experience in geotechnical engineering related to infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, and dams.
- Expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, slope stability analysis, and geotechnical laboratory testing in the context of infrastructure development.
- Familiarity with relevant infrastructure codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Understanding of the unique challenges and considerations associated with geotechnical aspects of infrastructure projects.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
- 10+ Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, project management, and team leadership, with a specific focus on infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and business development skills.
- Proficiency in relevant geotechnical software and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of geotechnical aspects related to infrastructure development.
