Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Geotechnical Tunneling Staff Engineer. If you have a passion for geotechnical engineering and an interest in underground tunneling projects, this is an excellent opportunity to kickstart your career in the field. As an Geotechnical Tunneling Staff Engineer, you will work closely with experienced professionals as your mentors and contribute to the planning and design of the largest tunneling projects in the country while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Tunnel Design and Analysis: Support experienced geotechnical engineers in designing tunnels and underground structures. Learn to assess geological conditions, soil mechanics, and groundwater behavior to ensure safe and efficient tunnel construction.
  • Geotechnical Investigations: Participate in geotechnical site investigations, including assisting with soil and rock sampling, laboratory testing, and geophysical surveys, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Help in preparing geotechnical reports summarizing site investigation findings, supporting engineering analysis, and presenting design recommendations to project stakeholders.
  • Supporting System Design: Collaborate with the design team to contribute to the development of tunnel support systems, such as lining and reinforcements, to ensure tunnel stability during and after construction.
  • Professional Development: Take advantage of training opportunities and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills in geotechnical tunneling design and related areas.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, learning from experienced professionals, and contributing to the success of tunneling projects.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.

– 1-5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or tunneling projects is preferred but not mandatory.

– Basic understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and soil mechanics is desirable.

– Eagerness to learn and develop skills in geotechnical tunneling design and analysis.

– Finite Element knowledge would be ideal but not mandatory

– EIT or PE
