A well-established employee-owned engineering firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and environmental services is seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership and mentorship. This role is pivotal in ensuring quality assurance, professional development, and technical excellence across diverse projects, including private developments, high-rises, infrastructure, commercial and industrial buildings, municipal projects, and educational facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Oversight & Peer Review:
- Conduct peer reviews of geotechnical reports, proposals, and designs to ensure accuracy and adherence to best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to enhance project execution and quality control.
Mentorship & Team Development:
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical growth and innovation.
- Lead training sessions and technical discussions to strengthen team expertise.
Project & Proposal Review:
- Assess proposals, scopes of work, and methodologies to optimize geotechnical solutions.
- Collaborate with department managers and project teams to refine geotechnical strategies and deliverables.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Support business development efforts by providing geotechnical expertise in client meetings.
- Maintain strong relationships with developers, municipalities, and infrastructure clients.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- 15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, with a focus on technical leadership.
- Expertise in foundation design, soil mechanics, slope stability, and site investigations.
- Proven experience mentoring engineers and leading technical reviews.
- Strong communication skills for both internal collaboration and client interactions.
