Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer – Portland, OR Area
A well-established, employee-owned consulting engineering firm is seeking a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing team in the Portland metro area. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex and technically challenging geotechnical projects while gaining increased project responsibility, client exposure, and long-term ownership potential within the firm.
Responsibilities Include:
- Managing geotechnical projects from proposal through completion
- Performing geotechnical analyses and developing engineering recommendations
- Preparing technical reports and communicating findings to clients
- Supporting field investigations and construction-related services as needed
- Working directly with clients, contractors, and project teams
- Assisting with project budgeting, scheduling, and resource management
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development
- Participating in business development and helping expand client relationships
Desired Background:
- BS in Civil Engineering required
- MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain licensure in the near future
- Approximately 7 to 14 years of geotechnical consulting experience
- Strong project management and client-facing experience
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
