Principal Geotechnical Engineer
Position: Supervising Engineer
Location: Southern California
About Us:
Leading A&E firm is seeking a full-time accomplished Principal Geotechnical Engineer with strong leadership skills to help lead a team providing solutions on large complex infrastructure-based projects including dams, levees, mining, transportation, and water infrastructure for their operations in Southern California.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in group management and administration.
- Prepare scopes and budgets for proposals.
- Manage office and field staff to procure and conduct field investigations.
- Lead data processing and engineering analysis efforts for report preparation.
- Oversee the preparation of reports, managing support engineering, geology, and drafting staff, and ensuring well-structured reports suitable for senior review.
- Participate in and oversee field efforts during both investigation and construction phases.
- Interact with clients to resolve scheduling, technical, and budgetary issues.
- Handle invoicing and collections.
- Share partial group performance responsibility.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff.
Qualifications:
- Extensive advanced geotechnical consulting experience.
- Post-graduate degree in a relevant field; PhD preferred.
- Proficiency in advanced geotechnical engineering modeling and/or earthquake engineering preferred.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Marketing experience is welcome but not required.
