Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Our client is looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing consulting engineering team. This role is ideal for a professional with 7+ years of experience in geotechnical investigations and design who is ready to step into a leadership position within a technically strong and forward-thinking organization.

In this role, you will take a hands-on role in managing subsurface investigations, solving complex soil and foundation challenges, performing detailed engineering analyses, and preparing high-quality technical reports and proposals. You will be responsible for developing project scopes and fees, leading project execution from start to finish, and ensuring technical excellence throughout delivery.

Beyond technical responsibilities, this role offers the opportunity to mentor junior staff, promote a strong culture of safety and quality, and support business development efforts. You will help build and maintain client relationships while contributing strategic insight to support regional and service-line growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Experience with subsurface investigations, construction observation, and testing
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Interest or experience in business development and client engagement

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical investigations and engineering analyses
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
  • Lead projects through planning, execution, and delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  • Promote safety, quality, and best practices in field and office operations
  • Support client relationship development and business growth initiatives
